A big “thank you” to everyone who attended
TechNow 2009 on Thursday, October 29!

TechNow, our region’s premier one-day conference devoted to new and important trends and opportunities in technology for nonprofits, took place on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Robert Morris University’s own
Sewall Center.

Some highlights from the conference:

  • We learned about thin clients, website accessibility, Green IT and a host of other topics in breakout sessions.  The materials from the sessions can be downloaded here.
  • Ami Dar from Idealist.org gave an inspirational keynote speech on utilizing technology to be highly productive and collaborative without breaking the bank.
  • Fabulous door prizes were given away, including a Garmin GPS, several iPods, a portable scanner, a flatscreen monitor, and a HD widescreen television.
  • Jeff Forster gave a techie’s rendition of “My Favorite Things” after lunch that had us all “rotflmao.”

We enjoyed a day of networking, thinking and learning.  We met new technology vendors (and some non-tech vendors) who can help us further our work.  And…last but not least, we were very well-fed.  Hurrah for cream pies!
